WHY I BECAME A NURSE
Hello guys, welcome to my mini world! My name is Omolade Adeleke also known as the ANTIDEPRESSANT NURSE. I am a registered nurse who has a flair for educating people. I love to put a smile on everybody’s face and I think this blog is a very good avenue to do so.
You might be wondering why a registered nurse is having a blog and writing. The answer to that is obvious.
I love writing, I love teaching, I love to put a smile on people’s faces and this blog will be a cool avenue to do just that.
Before you jump into my world, just know that this blog would focus majorly on health, wellness and lifestyle and I hope that I can impact as many people as possible with every bit of joy that I have to offer.
A lot of people have a wide range of reasons for choosing to become a nurse. Some choose nursing because of job opportunities and security. Others choose nursing for the “fat remuneration”. Some choose nursing because they have one as a parent and fell in love with the profession at a point. And many choose nursing simply because they love helping sick people get better.
Unlike a lot of people who found themselves in nursing by chance, it was always my ambition to become a nurse and so I did.
Having lost my mom to septic shock when I was just eight, I always had the notion that she died due to lack of adequate health care and it was at that point I promised myself I was going to be a health care professional. I didn’t know what field but I knew I was going to be one.
Nursing as a profession encompasses the holistic care given to an individual to aid quick recovery or a peaceful death. Little wonder it caught my fancy. A nurse not only focuses on the medical aspect of care for an individual but also the emotional, physical and mental aspects. So, being an individual who loves to help people and put a smile on people’s faces, I didn’t have a hard time choosing a career path.
I became a nurse because i wanted to make a difference, I wanted to fix the lapses in the health care system, i wanted to help people get better. Becoming a nurse wasn’t an easy ride but it was all worth it in the end because the satisfaction gotten knowing that i put a smile on someone’s face or i helped someone get better is inestimable. This was definitely one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
So please read with me and enjoy every bit of what I have to offer.
Your one and only,
Antidepressant nurse.
